Maternity & Newborn Photography for Schertz, TX Families

Schertz has built a reputation as one of the safest, most family-friendly communities near San Antonio, home to a mix of established neighborhoods, tree-lined parks, and military families connected to nearby Randolph Air Force Base and Fort Sam Houston. It’s a community built around raising kids well, and that starts long before your baby even arrives. At Maria Bercher Photography, we’re honored to help Schertz families mark this chapter, whether with a maternity photo session that captures your pregnancy glow, a maternity photoshoot that welcomes the whole family, or newborn photography and infant portraits that preserve those first tender days.

Maternity Photography for Schertz Mamas-to-Be

Pregnancy is one of the most remarkable stretches of your life, and it disappears faster than you’d expect. A professional maternity photo session gives you the chance to pause, feel radiant, and walk away with images you’ll treasure well beyond the newborn stage.

Maria brings 15 years behind the camera, plus four pregnancies of her own, to every maternity photoshoot. She knows exactly how to help you relax, guide you through poses that feel natural instead of stiff, and capture the real emotion of this time — the excitement, the anticipation, and the love that’s already there.

The sweet spot for a pregnancy photoshoot is 28 to 34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully round and you’re still comfortable enough to fully enjoy the session. Maria’s studio offers a gorgeous selection of flowing maternity gowns, or bring something that feels like you. Partners, siblings, and grandparents are always welcome.

Newborn Photography: Those First Days You’ll Never Get Back

The first two weeks fly by in a blur of feedings, swaddles, and sleepy snuggles, and your newborn has already changed before you’ve fully caught your breath. Professional newborn photography captures exactly how small your baby is right now, in newborn portraits you’ll treasure for the rest of your life.

With more than 1,000 babies photographed, Maria always puts your newborn’s comfort and safety first. The studio is kept warm, around 80 degrees, because cozy, sleepy babies make for the most beautiful newborn portraits. Sessions run 2 to 4 hours, and we work on baby time, not clock time, with feeding breaks and diaper changes built right in.

Book your newborn session while you’re still pregnant so Maria can hold a spot around your due date. The ideal window for newborn portraits is 6 to 14 days after birth, while babies are still sleepy and delightfully curled.

Serving Schertz & the Metrocom Communities

Schertz families regularly head into San Antonio for work, dining, and services worth the trip, and Maria’s studio — an easy drive via I-35 or FM 78, not far from the Cibolo and Selma line — is one more stop worth making for a photographer who truly understands this season of life.

Many Schertz families book both a maternity session and a newborn session together, and Maria offers special package pricing for the pair. It’s the most complete way to document your journey from bump to baby, with one trusted photographer by your side the entire way.
